The annual Christmas Champagne Party is one of our most important fundraising events, raising some £7000 from ticket sales, donations and a raffle. The Trust is fortunate enough to receive annual sponsorship from Savills who generously help fund the cost of providing champagne for 200 guests.
Held at one of Cornwall’s historic houses, (usually Scorrier House nr Redruth or Boconnoc) it is a very special event in Cornwall’s Christmas calender. The party is for all generations, and we are particularly proud of our teenage supporters who enjoy the opportunity of catching up with friends. The Party Committee produces in excess of 2000 amazing canapés and these are served by an enthusiastic team of committee members’ children.
The 2016 Christmas Party will be held at Boconnoc on Thursday 15th December.
2015 Champagne Christmas Party:
17th December 2015 was held at Scorrier by kind permission of Mr and Mrs Richard Williams.
The CHCT had another busy year providing financial help for the preservation & reconstruction of places of worship throughout the County; thanks to the money we raised with your help, during 2014 CHCT assisted restoration projects at 12 churches and chapels. Although not wealthy enough to give very large sums, often the CHCT grant provides the basis for kick-starting an appeal. Where the CHCT has given assistance using our wealth of local knowledge, national organisations such as The National Churches Trust & Heritage Lottery are more likely to support an appeal.
We are indebted to Savills for once again sponsoring this event and to Mr and Mrs Richard Williams for so kindly welcoming us back to Scorrier again.
